Long Island Select Healthcare Inc. (LISH) is a comprehensive network of community health centers under a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) model. We provide Article 16 and 28 clinic services at 3 locations across Suffolk County, New York. We currently operate a Dental clinic from our Central Islip and Riverhead locations.

Job Summary & Requirements:

LISH is currently searching for an engaging and competent leader to serve in the role of

Hygienist and Practice Manager - Dental.

The position is responsible for day to day leadership of the Dental Department and will also treat patients as a Dental Hygienist

1. Manage day to day operations of the dental department and ensures that all relevant local, state, and federal guidelines as well as LISH policies and training are maintained by the dental clinics.
2. Prepare the department for inspections and audits.
3. Review purchase requests for dental equipment and materials, to ensure cost-effective operation.
4. Maintain training, certifications, and radiation safety standards relevant to X-ray operations.
5. Monitors and responds to trends in patient experience.
6. Assist the CMO in tracking and enforcing adherence of dental providers to the 72 hour standard for locking visit encounters.
7. Provide high quality clinical services, as a hygienist in the department. *(please see Dental Hygienist essential functions below)
8. Performs service recovery duties for appropriate issues using sound judgment.
9. Maintains working knowledge of quality efforts within areas of responsibility and supports high quality patient centered care including the implementation of quality initiatives where appropriate.
10. Facilitates performance management of all reports including hiring, counseling and discipline, performance evaluation, professional development, retention, and training.
11. Assist Operations in maintaining patient access standards, to ensure acceptable appointment delays and same-day access for dental patients.
12. Encourages a culture of professional development and serves as a role-model
13. Evaluate, identify and recommend efficiencies in day-to-day operational activities
14. Maximizes Provider schedules.
15. Manage and direct staff assignments and activities
16. Train and competency staff on use of equipment within the Dental Department
17. Manage Dental Assistant work schedules and serve as Timekeeper within UKG platform
18. Ability to self-direct work efforts and take initiative
19. Manage special projects as assigned
20. Coordinate project communication with impacted areas across the agency
21. Build and promote positive working relationships with all stakeholders, internal and external
22. Manage and support other work efforts as assigned
