All positions at Atlantic Casualty report to assigned local office on a hybrid schedule, unless otherwise deemed necessary.
SUMMARY:
Responsible for day-to-day operation of the imaging of mail. This may include any functions as it relates to the needs of the mailroom to assist Atlantic Casualty Insurance Company in operations and workflow.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Possess knowledge of the workflow within each department and the individuals who handle specific functions within those departments.
- Responsible for being aware of the names and the location of employees to distribute the mail.
- Responsible for opening mail and distributing the mail to the proper individual or department.
- Responsible for daily maintenance of all imaging scanners and communicating with the ISS department if any maintenance is needed.
- Responsible for prepping and sorting company mail to be routed to the appropriate department.
- Responsible for the knowledge of the workflow, then scanning the mail to these departments by drawer, doc type, and flow in timely and accurate manner.
- Responsible for indexing all scanned and/or electronic images by assigning a number or name to the items scanned.
- Responsible for correcting or updating the imaging system on any file if needed.
- Responsible for assisting the mailroom on a backup basis if such is needed to include: prepping, sorting, stuffing, stamping all company related mail.
- Responsible for handling mail to and from the United States Post Office on a backup basis if such is needed.
- Responsible for assisting Switchboard Operator on a backup basis if such is needed.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
- Skill and ability to use and operate an adding machine, computer, fax machine, phone system and copier.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, good written communication, and organizational skills.
MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in written or diagram form. Reasoning; dealing with problems involving a few variables in standard situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle controls and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
