Position Responsibilities:

• Under direct supervision of the Supervisor, the Lead will advise, direct, instruct and train, if necessary, the activities of Press Department employees, including but not limited to:
• Participates in departmental meetings such as Tier 1, Tier 2 and Toolbox
• Must be able to set up and operate all equipment in the Die Shop
• Ability to use measuring tools to ensure parts are made to specific requirements
• Basic repair, maintenance and assembly of dies
• Must be able to perform jobs given in a timely manner

Skills:

• Ability to safely operate machines in the Die Shop and other equipment as necessary
• Ability to safely operate all powered forklift:
• Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools to verify dimensions
• Ability to communicate respectfully and tactfully with others
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to achieve objectives
• Desire to learn new processes and procedures to improve business performance

Physical Requirements:

• Full range of body motion- bending, twisting, reaching, stooping, kneeling or otherwise maneuvering of the entire body and the dexterous use of both hands
• Ability to stand 100% of the time
• Heavy material handling and/or lifting will be required as described in the Physical Demands
• Analysis of the position
• Must be present at work when scheduled

Education Requirements:

Minimum: Machine Shop Technology Certificate or 2 years minimum work experience in machine shop and/or tool and die shop
