The Technology Alignment Manager (TAM) will lead and oversee efforts to proactively align technology development with strategic growth in Lockheed Martin Space (LMS), reporting to the Vice President of Capture Excellence (CE) within the Strategy and Business Development (S&BD) organization. The TAM will work with LMS Engineering, the Mission Strategy and Advanced Capability (MSAC) organizations, Enterprise Strategy (ES) and the lines-of-business (LOBs) to ensure that Internal Research and Development (IR&D), Contracted Research and Development (CRAD), partnerships and mergers/acquisitions activities are supporting near-term growth opportunities and longer-term foundational technology needs. The TAM will partner internally to create technology development strategies and roadmaps that drive and support LMS investment priorities and strategic make/buy decisions. The TAM will also work with MSAC leads to develop cross-LMS R&D customer engagement strategies and support the execution of those engagements with key federal government, university and contractor R&D labs. The TAM will partner internally to help achieve LMS CRAD goals for growth and vesting of technologies with key customers. Finally, she or he will partner with other S&BD organizations to help ensure the efficient and effective expenditure of IR&D investments toward achieving near- and long-term technology goals.
Specific Responsibilities:
The TAM should have and be able to develop LMS-internal and -external R&D relationships that enable executing strategies for CRAD growth within LMS. He or she must be able to understand a broad range of strategic plans and roadmaps and rally resources to realize technology growth and longer-term major capture wins. She or he will have the analytic skills to track CRAD progress and LMS overall effectiveness in investing for technological advantage. The TAM will demonstrate strong written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills and executive presence and be a problem solver with proven ability to work across a variety of disciplines and organizations. The TAM will will demonstrate learning agility and breadth of technology experience, strong ethical standards and a track record of effectively managing and leading through influence and collaboration.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in Colorado or Washington is $146,800 - $281,400. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full time employees: accrue 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO); receive 40 hours of Granted PTO annually for incidental absences; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of PTO per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO is prorated based on hours worked and start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.

- Tracking and coordination of technology needs for major pursuits
- Ensuring collaborative approaches to technology development and commonality where possible
- Identification and creation of business opportunities within R&D customer markets
- Characterization and measurement of CRAD, IR&D and partnership metrics
- Summarizing and communicating investment priorities and their alignment with growth objectives.
- Support to all CRAD captures across LMS with resources and facilitating collaboration.
- Tailoring of capture processes to efficiently pursue CRAD.
- Effectively tying CRAD opportunities to IRAD efforts to maximize strategic outcomes and support bid/no-bid decisions
- Supporting LMS CRAD growth objectives and ensuring their positive impact to larger growth opportunities

Basic Qualifications:
- Proven track record working within R&D environments, with 15+ years of progressive work, and relevant capture experience with a strong record of contracted R&D (CRAD) wins.
- Technical and business credibility in aerospace and defense markets.
- Advanced understanding of R&D roadmaps and technology growth strategy
- Proven experience building and developing high performance teams.
- Bachelor's degree in a field highly relevant to this position (Science, Engineering, Management, Business), or another closely related discipline, and current TS/SCI clearance (required).
- Engineering degree and engineering experience in relevant space markets and missions
- Experience with LMS CRAD, IR&D and opportunity pipeline business rhythms
- Strategic acumen - ability to foresee marketing changes and influence strategic direction
- Knowledge of and experience with the capture process as practiced in aerospace and defense
- Experience in CRAD management or managing advanced technology development
- Experience in policies and practices in the allocation of new business funds (bid-and-proposal, market analysis, IR&D)
