Description

Franklin Public Schools is looking to hire one Instructional Coach. The position will be working with grades 4K-8. A Instructional Coach is a critical lever in improving student achievement. By working with teachers in a coaching model, Instructional Coaches can ensure growth in teacher practice that results in increased student achievement. Instructional Coaches work at a system level and are assigned to schools. The primary and essential function of the Instructional Coach is to coach teachers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: -Provide comprehensive instructional coaching including: planning, observing, modeling/co-teaching and providing actionable feedback. -Provide direction and coordination for how the curriculum is taught consistent with District initiatives and recognized best instructional practices. -Participate and assist in leading curriculum revision and continuous improvement process. -Collaborate with teachers and provide research-based strategies for improved instructional delivery. -Provide job-embedded informal professional learning integral to the coaching process. -Lead Systemic/Program Professional development or training. -Collaborate with district colleagues in a common role to maintain universal instruction practices including monitoring data to determine growth. -Collaborate with building and district leaders regarding teacher practice. -Serve as a resource in the teacher SLO process. -Build strong relationships with students, teachers, administrators, and other coaches. Intended Outcomes and Success Measures: -Improved student and teacher performance in targeted areas as identified. -Increase in professional learning opportunities and participation of staff across the district. -Change in teaching practices. Qualifications: -Valid WI content area certification. -Strong pedagogical knowledge and content expertise. -3-5 years teaching experience preferred. -Previous experience coaching educators. -Demonstrated leadership qualities and strong interpersonal skills, including giving and receiving feedback. -Demonstrated expertise in oral and written communication. -A proven record of results in an education setting. -Strong technology background & skills required. -Formal training and experience in instructional coaching. -In-depth knowledge of The Framework for Teaching.
