Weekly Schedule: 20 hrs.

Major Responsibilities:

• Outreach to community organizations, especially schools in the Northeast San Fernando Valley- Foothill Zone.
• Responsible for incoming referrals and phone calls regarding potential GRYD participants.
• Serve as one of the agency’s contact persons for referring agencies.
• Participate and present in community events and meetings, to increase GRYD’s visibility in the community.
• Establish linkages with community agencies to enhance services to clients.
• Document all outreach efforts.
• Participate in program-related trainings.
• Assist GRYD case managers in facilitating youth development activities.
• Collaborate with the program specialist in the development of youth activities in the community.
• Conduct a minimum of 3 Community Engagement Campaigns (CEC) with community partners.
• Liaison between GRYD and local schools, introduce GRYD services to school staff and parents and collaborate with FSC-LAUSD Counselor on site.

Requirements:

• Working knowledge of adolescent development and social services typically results from any combination of an AA degree in these or related areas and or prior work experience.
• Working knowledge of community resources.
• Strong advocacy, networking, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including public speaking skills.
• Valid California driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and an insured automobile to drive to clients’ homes and to transport clients as necessary.
• Assessment skills for high-risk youth and families.
• Ability to relate well with and develop effective and positive working relationships with youth and families from different cultures living at poverty levels.
• To maintain professional skills and knowledge through in-service programs

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.51 per hour
