The Internal Communications Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing H.B. Fuller’s global employee communications and engagement strategy. This individual will play a key role in connecting employees to H.B. Fuller’s vision, mission, strategies, purpose and values, while fostering an inclusive environment where employees feel engaged, connected and informed.
The ideal candidate will be an excellent writer and communications strategist who has extensive internal communications experience, high energy, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
This position reports to the Global Communications & Community Relations Director at H.B. Fuller headquarters in St. Paul, Minnesota, with flexibility to work hybrid or onsite.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish a path forward for internal communications at H.B. Fuller, with the goal of enhancing the employee experience and perpetuating H.B. Fuller’s culture and values. Marshal stakeholders and resources to achieve that vision.
- Lead and oversee global internal communications activities, including content and channel strategy; governance; and metrics/reporting. Regularly evaluate the efficacy of content and channels, making continuous improvements.
- Work cross-functionally to develop impactful content and stories for a variety of internal communications channels (intranet, announcements, videos, events, executive presentations, newsletters, speeches, scripts, talking points, visuals and other materials).
- Partnering with internal stakeholders, build and execute holistic communication strategies for global employee programs and initiatives (e.g., HR, R&D, IT, Legal, etc.).
- Oversee the planning and delivery of virtual and in-person senior leadership events, including quarterly CEO town halls and other global events.
- Working in partnership with PR and other stakeholders, ensure internal communications messages are consistent across all mediums and audiences and extend throughout the organization.
- Manage a team of professionals dedicated to internal communications.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Six to 12 or more years’ experience in internal corporate communications or a closely related field, ideally in-house for a mid-sized to large organization.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year university in English, writing, marketing, mass communications, journalism, public relations, or related field
- Native English language fluency
- Expert-level writing, editing and proofreading skills, with a focus on audience, purpose, clarity, and correctness
- Significant experience building, executing and leading internal communications strategies and projects
- Expert-level proficiency in Associated Press (AP) style guidelines
- Ability to manage and accomplish multiple projects independently and meet deadlines on time
- A self-starter with a strong work ethic and high level of ownership, accountability, and initiative
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
- Proficient in basic MS programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Travel: Some minimal travel could be expected.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree
- A strong team leader, with previous experience managing others
- Knowledge of the adhesives industry
- Previous event planning experience
- Chinese, Spanish, German, or Portuguese second language proficiency
- Self-motivated with the desire to work independently and be resourceful
- Team focused, with a desire to improve process and workflow for continuous improvement
- Outgoing and engaging personality, with ability to build trusted relationships internally and externally
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT AND LOCATION
- Flexible on work location (onsite or hybrid). Reports to corporate office in Vadnais Heights, Minnesota.
