APFC is recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic team member to oversee the Investment Operations group which supports all internal trading in the public markets. This function is critical to the success of the Permanent Fund. The operations manager will work closely with internal portfolio managers and traders, other Finance team members, counterparts, technology providers and the custodian bank to ensure that trade settlement and collateral movements are happening as they should. Principal Responsibilities
- Support internal traders managing Fixed Income, Public Equity, Cash, Derivatives and FX
- Confirm trades and work with traders and counterparties to resolve discrepancies
- Manage post-trade exceptions to ensure timely settlement and prevent fail charges
- Work with traders and Finance to confirm and process corporate action events
- Collaborate with stakeholders to improve the use and integration of new and existing systems and workflows
- Review newly traded securities and maintain security master data
- Partner with Finance to monitor and assist with resolving cash and holdings reconciliation exceptions
- Organize and map data from single or multiple systems
- Monitor data feeds and system interfaces for errors and work with IT to research and initiate resolution
- Provide quality assurance of imported data
- Supervise operations analyst including training, work plans, coaching, and performance monitoring and evaluation
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or BBA with emphasis in Accounting, Finance or Management Information Systems
- 3+ years of professional experience
- Basic understanding of financial markets
- Proficiency in MS Office applications
- Schedule flexibility to accommodate workdays that may begin as early as 5:00am
Preferred Qualifications
- BlackRock Aladdin proficiency
- Bloomberg Terminal proficiency
- Financial or investment company experience
- Supervisory experience
