The Irrigation Technician will act as a valued contributor to our passionate golf team, ensuring we provide our guests with an experience that will leave them excited to come back!
Position Responsibilities:
- Conducts inspections and repairs of the golf course/grounds irrigation system.
- Conducts routine testing of irrigation heads.
- Maintains a log of all repairs done to the irrigation system, including a record of malfunctioning irrigation heads.
- Ensures irrigation pumps and pump stations are maintained and operating at specified standards.
- Ensures that any parts and/or supplies needed to keep the irrigation system in peak operating condition are in stock or ordered.
- Programs the water schedule and ensures that proper watering is done when required.
Position Minimum Qualifications:
- Prior irrigation experience and ability to diagnose and repair irrigation troubles is preferred.
- Strong electrical knowledge is preferred.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
- Valid New York State driver’s license (or ability to obtain one upon establishing residency).
Position Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to frequently stand, walk or sit for long periods of time.
- Must be able to frequently climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach.
- Repetitive use of the hands for constant pushing, pulling, fingering and grasping in the use of tools and equipment.
- Must have close visual acuity in order to operate equipment.
- Must be able to work outdoors under conditions ranging from extreme hot to extreme cold.
- Subject to noise and electrical, mechanical, chemical and explosive hazards.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs and frequently up to 20 lbs using proper lifting techniques.
