About You

The IT Security Administrator is responsible for managing all IT-related security issues within Noodles and Company (Restaurant, Field and CSO). This can include developing systems and procedures to secure company, employee, and guest data, implementing systems aimed towards preventing malware infections of company computer hardware, and responding to evolving internet-based threats to corporate systems. They also help develop written procedures for dealing with information and communication while working with other members of the team to determine the most efficient means for establishing and executing these security procedures. This work involves efforts to ensure that all data is kept secure, and the procedures comply with industry and government requirements. This can include analyzing and identifying best possible solutions to reported vulnerabilities, recognizing potential unusual user activity, and acting swiftly to security threats to prevent unauthorized activity.

Your Day in the Life

  • Coordinate regular review of the Noodles and Company security response plan, implement the systems to execute this plan and monitor all deployed computers for compliance with established configuration requirements
  • Train members of the IT team to deploy computers that meet security requirements
  • Serve as the escalation point for all security and compliance issues
  • Monitor key security systems (LogRhythm, O365, Checkpoint IDS/IPS, AV, Intune, etc.) daily to address or escalate any identified exceptions
  • Contribute to regular security and risk assessments, refine key security systems to support the findings of these assessments and implement additional systems as needs arise to ensure an advanced security position for Noodles and Company end-user computing
  • Maintain a working knowledge of systems managed by other members of the Systems Administration team in order to provide an alternate escalation path and system expertise
  • Design and execute processes supporting compliance with external regulations (PCI, SOX, etc.) and internal standards
  • Execute additional projects as outlined by department leadership

What You Bring to the Team

  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience working in a technical role supporting users of modern computer systems
  • Previous restaurant, retail, or multi-unit professional experience preferred
  • Previous experience in penetration testing or vulnerability scanning preferred
  • Formal help desk experience preferred- including use of a ticketing system, capability to dynamically prioritize tasks amongst multiple team members, willingness to accept ownership of assigned tasks, and the ability to escalate issues to meet support timelines
  • Knowledge of information security frameworks such as ISO 27000, NIST or COBIT preferred
  • Experience with the following specific software packages and hardware environments:
    • Aloha Quick Service Point of Sale System
    • Windows 8/10, Windows Server (2012/2016/2019)
    • MS Office/O365
    • Microsoft System Center and Intune
    • Windows Deployment Services
    • Mainstream mobile devices/platforms (Apple, Android)
    • Apple laptop and desktop support
    • PowerShell scripting experience
    • Windows networking and authentication systems
    • Broadband communication protocols including general telecommunication technical standards
  • Proven experience in configuring and maintaining configurations for computers in an enterprise environment
  • Working knowledge of multi-unit restaurant hardware configurations and software applications
  • General understanding of server and desktop applications and tools such as anti-virus, maintenance procedures, and system performance monitoring
  • Understanding of security methodologies and awareness of typical attack vectors
  • The ability to identify security solutions to prevent malicious access to critical systems, research new and evolving malware threats, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Working knowledge in developing, maintaining and utilizing testing environments based on best practices
  • Ability to contribute to setting the strategic direction for security and compliance
  • Strong customer service orientation, ability to effectively prioritize issues and troubleshoot technical issues via telephone
  • Articulate communicator comfortable with providing documentation and communication of status to end users, vendors, and team members
  • Must be able to work in a team-orientated and collaborative environment on projects, while also troubleshooting issues
  • Must be self-motivated with strong initiative to learn, enhance job understanding, and share knowledge with others
  • Strong organizational skills and professional demeanor
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
