Position Summary:

An IT Support Specialist at Georgia Aquarium is responsible for providing support for desktop, mobile devices, printers, servers, and network infrastructure. Candidate must possess technical and customer service skills as well as strong written and verbal communication skills. This position will require working shifts during and occasionally after business operation hours.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform all necessary maintenance on ticketing, hardware, and software. Including Telephone, desktop, and call center hardware.
  • Be primary point of contact for 3rd party contractors responsible for both server and network administration.
  • Update desktop software as required by the IT Technology renewal plan.
  • Configure hardware, server software and telecommunications for new hires, location changes and new needs.
  • Identify ways to reduce operational costs and improve customer service by automating processes.
  • Perform troubleshooting for desktop, ticketing, and business applications, to include coordinating the efforts of third-party contractors.
  • Develop and interpret technical documentation for training and end user procedures.
  • Perform computer upgrades, including hard drive replacement, component installation, and specification requirements.
  • Perform IT business critical systems repairs and maintenance afterhours and on weekends
  • Respond to Help Desk tickets / technical problems in a timely manner.
  • Submit monthly Help Desk reports.
  • To perform other duties as workload necessitates.


Qualifications
:

  • Good familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
  • Relevant experience in Information Technology, or related course of study.
  • Excellent communications skills and customer service attitude.
  • Familiarity with industry standard laptop, desktop hardware and peripherals.
  • Good familiarity with Network Infrastructure, File servers, and Data Centers
  • Familiar with basic database management
  • Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques.
  • Experience in a zoo or aquarium preferred but not required.
  • Aptitude and willingness to expand subject matter expertise in business areas such as ticketing, telecommunications, fund raising, accounting and HR.
