JOB SUMMARY: We are looking for an IT System Technician to join the administrative team in providing excellent internal/external customer services to the employees of Douglas County Community Services Board. The purpose of this role is to ensure proper computer operations so that end users can accomplish organizational tasks. This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving end user help requests. Problem resolution may involve the use of approved diagnostics and help tools, as well as require that the IT Technician give hands-on help at the desktop level. Installation, configuration and support to a local area network, wide area network, internet and computers, laptops, desktops, and/or mobile devices. Responsible for network security measures and disaster recovery.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Design, configure, and test computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software.
• Understanding, troubleshooting, and configuring a VOIP-VPN for AT&T office and hand phone system.
• Setup and configure Ubiquiti wireless access points, routers, switches, security cameras, controller devices, and VoIP access control products.
• Maintain SonicWALL software and hardware firewalls with the ability to deliver comprehensive, unified policy management of firewall functions, application control, threat prevention, and advanced malware protection from the network to the endpoint.
• Ability to navigate Server 2019 and perform certain requirements within the server.
• Troubleshoot Cannon printers physically and with papercut software.
• Keep systems up to date through operating systems upgrades.
• Monitor web performance, network availability, and security.
• Evaluate connectivity issues, equipment, and software for stability of the network.
• Setting up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices.
• Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance.
• Diagnoses and remedies hardware and software problems.
• Monitors performance of the computer system and networks.
• Plan, coordinate and implement network security measures in order to protect data, software and hardware.
• Performs data backups and disaster recovery operations.
• Installing and upgrading anti-virus software to ensure security at the user level.
• Providing support to users and being the first point of contact for error reporting.
• Establishing good relationships with all departments and colleagues.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Proven experience as IT Technician or relevant position.
• Knowledge of windows operating systems.
• Problem-solving skill that requires the use of critical thinking.
• Patience in understanding the problem and working toward a solution.
• Good communication with supervisors and staff.
• Endurance to be able to work long hours with complicated projects.
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues and develop solutions.
• Ability to provide on-site or remote technical assistance.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to evaluate existing systems and network.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Associate degree in Computer Science or related field (minimum)
• Bachelors Computer Science (preferred)
