Meat Cutter

Primary Objective

Responsible for demonstrating a love of food and passion for people that includes incredible Customer Service and performance excellence through department knowledge and technical expertise. As a Meat team member, the Meat
Cutter promotes and delivers a shopping experience focused on providing customers the level of service to which we have publicly committed by providing efficient service through hands-on knowledge of Meat products. The Meat
Cutter adheres to organizational procedures, policies and systems including food quality standards and food safety and sanitation guidelines. The Meat Cutter is focused on driving sales through suggestive selling, sampling, recipe ideas and promoting sales events.

• Basic product handling skills Working knowledge of all Meat/Seafood
• Performs meat cutting and preparation to include equipment sawing, boning, cutting, trimming, grinding, Demonstrates high level of operational execution weighing, traying and wrapping Fast paced and exhibits sense of urgency
• Ensures proper product preparation, packaging, Working knowledge of Meat/Seafood legal, safety, presentation, rotation, replenishment and sanitation SOP’s
• Ensures in-stock position of available product Consistent execution of all Meat/Seafood SOP’s
• Maintains high cleanliness standards – clean as you go, inclusive of washing, cleaning, sweeping, mopping

3. Performance Focus – Assists financial results in Sales and Supplies and Shrink Management.

• Accomplished SELLING skills results in additional Communicates code dating issues

Sales Communicates Shrink opportunities

• Suggestive SELLS and Samples short-coded Monitors product quality to reduce Shrink product Utilizes appropriate supplies to reduce costs

4. Planning Focus –

• Plans SELLING product for each scheduled shift Identifies department opportunities during

Functional Requirements:

Mariano’s Fresh Market Position Description

• Physical Skills – Frequent ability to lift/carry 30 to 95 lbs., push/pull 150 - 2000 lbs., walking on uneven ground, turning, standing, reaching, stooping/bending. Use of equipment such as meat saw, bone scraper, knives, slicer, scales, pallet jack, flatbed, racks, wrapping machine, intercom, telephone.
• Physical Skills – Occasional: Lifting/carrying more than 100 lbs., equipment operation (meat grinder, cuber, patty machine, tenderizer, bulker, meat mixer). Pushing/pulling 150 to 2000 lbs., climbing ladders, stooping, crawling.
• Education or Experience – Minimum High school education or currently enrolled
• Environmental – Exposure to colder temperatures – Coolers/Freezers (-20 to 40 degrees).
