Position Reports to: Cafeteria Manager, Operations Managers
Job Overview:
This position will assist in all functions related to the preparation and serving of food in this corporate cafeteria. Staff members will be expected to utilize a wide range of kitchen tools including proper knife handling. Staff members will also operate kitchen equipment in a safe and professional manner. Guests will be served quickly and efficiently and with complete knowledge of the food and beverage menu. Superior customer service delivered in a clean and friendly environment is the goal.
Essential Functions:
- Food preparation, chopping vegetables, making sandwiches and salads and putting together ingredients.
- Ensuring that food is properly stored.
- Performing kitchen maintenance; emptying the trash, mopping the floors and washing dishes.
- Learns and adheres to the designated cooking methods to assist in preparing the appropriate menu items consistently.
- Strives to learn to improve cooking skills and expands knowledge about food products and techniques.
- Assists with the cleaning, sanitation and organization of the kitchen, walk-in coolers and all storage areas.
- Warmly greets and acknowledges guests.
- Effectively merchandises food and beverage menu in an informative, friendly and enthusiastic manner.
- Accurately takes customer orders.
- Cleans, stocks and maintains work station throughout shift.
- Follows all safety and sanitation policies.
- Correctly and precisely calculates each transaction.
- Performs additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by a manager at any time.
