Our client in the biotech space located in Wilmington, MA is looking for a Laboratory Assistant to join their team on a direct hire basis as soon as possible. This Mon-Fri traditional office hours opportunity is going to be responsible for performing duties to support the manufacturing and lab teams, which includes product sampling, testing, measuring, recording, and analyzing in cooperation with the rest of the company's laboratory team.

One must be able to communicate effectively, be detailed oriented and have the ability to work with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will come with a degree in Biology or Chemistry and at least a years worth of experience working in the Biotech space within a lab setting.

The main job responsibilities will include the following tasks:

• Prepare mixtures of solvents & silica gel slurries.
• Prepare and perform purification columns for Chromatography.
• Clean glassware’s and bottles by following procedures.
• Produce accurate and reliable data and interpret results.
• Follow methodologies in carrying routine tasks.
• Comply with the laboratory's technical, administrative and health/safety policies and procedures.
• Document all activities, record results, and insert/retrieve data.
• Participate in the laboratory's quality assurance plan, adhering to quality control and preventive maintenance policies and appropriately documenting these activities.
• Troubleshoot and identify problems that may adversely affect test performance and/or reporting of test results by initiating corrective action and using the Laboratory Information Systems to make the required management notification.
• Perform proficiency testing in the same manner as routine samples.
• Evaluate data & prepare technical reports.
• Perform general lab maintenance as necessary.
• Maintain work area and equipment.
• Provide assistance to Senior Production Chemists/Production Chemists.
