Paducah River Service is hiring full-time Laborers/Deckhands for both day and night shift.

*Prior experience as a deckhand required.

Laborer/Deckhand essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

· Associate must be able to serve as an additional deckhand during winter and adverse conditions while performing laborer duties the remainder of time.

· Associate must be able to promptly attend morning meetings and board vessel for transportation to work location.

· Associate must be able to perform equipment start-ups in preparation of work duties.

· Associate must be able to assist crane operator with the removal/placement various materials such as barge covers and skid pans by performing rigging requirements.

· Associate must be able to visually assess worksites and determine appropriate steps to ensure the timely completion of duties.

· Associate must be able to operate heavy equipment such as fork lifts and skid steers to remove sludge/mud from barges and dump into skid pans.

· Associate must be able to drain water from barges by properly placing weights to facilitate water drainage. Additionally, associate may utilize pumps and manually remove water with the use of push brooms.

· Associate must be able to manually remove mud/sludge from barge with shovels and discard into buckets and/or skid pans.

· Associate must be able to operate high pressured hoses to remove excess mud/sludge from barge.

· Associate must be able to transport various materials to/from work location such as pumps, brooms, shovels, buckets and ladders.

· Associate must be able to assist with other duties throughout shipyard such as directed by supervisor.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
