Department: DPW – Water Pollution Control

Employment Status: Non-Exempt; Full-Time, Seasonal

Salary: Non-Union, Chapter 7 Ordinance – $15.00 per hour.

SUMMARY

The City of Chicopee’s DPW Water Pollution Control Division is hiring a Temporary Laborer responsible for miscellaneous maintenance repair tasks or office work; lawn mowing, painting; grounds keeping and cleaning; catch basin marking; graffiti removal.

SOME ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE

• Landscaping
• Picks up trash/recycling, debris removal.
• Painting and graffiti removal
• Catch basin marking.
• Responsible for operating and maintaining power equipment.
• Responsible for safe operation of city vehicles in adherence with law and city policies
• Performing miscellaneous maintenance repair tasks or office work

QUALIFICATIONS

To be minimally qualified for this position, one must meet the following criteria:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• A minimum of three months related experience and/or training.
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• BFOQ Notice: You must be at least 18 years old to operate machinery.

SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION
