WHAT TO EXPECT

• Assess patients' athletic injuries and implements immediate care as appropriate.
• Assist contracted high school ATCs with developing in-services and implementing student trainer programs.
• Communicate with coaches, athletes, parents, SMI physicians, and Sports Medicine Staff regarding injuries, treatment plans, and Return-to-Play programs in a timely and regular manner.
• Promote and market the Sports Medicine Institute services and programs throughout the community in order to develop new opportunities and relationships.
• Coordinate return-to-play program for Sports Medicine; develop and implement appropriate and effective return-to-play protocols and programs, under the direction of the Medical Director and the Director of Sports Medicine.
• Coordinate supplemental off-site athletic training services and serve as a liaison between off-site Athletic Trainers and Sports Medicine Institute.
• Identify and initiate new programs and services based on research, feedback and identified community needs.
• Maintain accurate documentation and record of all athletic injuries, related referrals and doctors notes in accordance with established policies and regulations.
• Participate in community, family and parent education in athletic training.

Qualifications

• Required Bachelor's Degree

• Preferred Master's Degree
• 5 years Physical Medicine/Rehabilitation Required
• 3 years Athletic Training Staff position at Div. 1 College, University, Professional or Olympic level. Required
• 2 years 2 years experience working in a sports rehab clinical setting with 1-2 years experience in a supervisory role for athletic trainers Required
• Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) - .
• Licensed Athletic Trainer - Indiana Athletic Trainers Board or Illinois Dept of Financial and Professional Regulation
