Job Summary
On-site lead staff school day or after school YMCA programs. Responsible for planning and implementing academically aligned activities for groups of youth. Activities will take place during school day and out of school time hours.

Hiring Range: $20.00 – 22.00/hr
Compensation Range: $20.00 – 28.00/hr
Responsibilities:
  • On site lead staff for tutoring or after school programs. Serves as support for other YMCA instructors.
  • Plans and implements program in accordance with the goals and policies of the YMCA and partnership agreements with assigned school. Coordinates activities which fit the developmental needs of youth.
  • Communicates with school staff daily, participates in regularly scheduled meeting with school administration
  • Communicates with, develops, and maintains positive relationships with youth and families.
  • Provides day-to-day leadership to staff and volunteers.
  • Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergency procedures.
  • Maintains ordered arrangement, appearance, decor, cleanliness, and learning environment of program site.
  • Attends staff meetings and trainings as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Current state approved first-aid certification. *
  • Current state approved community CPR certification. *
  • Experience in working with youth the same age as those to be supervised.
  • Experience leading other staff
  • One year of experience or more in program planning preferred.
  • Other applicable education, training, and experience, which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position will be considered.
  • Knowledge of culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate practices.
  • Knowledge of core curriculum components of assigned age group.
  • Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
  • Prefer knowledge of and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.). Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.
  • At hire, or earliest possible training (but no later than 90 days after employment)
