Job Descriptions – Director and Lead Teachers

Director Primary Responsibilities

• Report directly to the owners
• Be available for inspections conducted by DCFS, CACFP, and Village
• Maintain staff and student’s files as required by DCFS
• Monitor and train staff
• Complete staff evaluations
• Manage day-to-day activities in the classrooms
• Maintain and monitor academic programs.
• Monitor students and teachers for progress
• Review and evaluate students’ assessment
• Train, encourage, and mentor teachers and other staff
• Maintain rapport with parents.
• Conduct tours and marketing
• Work actively with teachers to maintain high curriculum standards
• Visit classrooms and observe teaching methods.
• Review instructional objectives and adjust accordingly
• Complete CACFP monthly paperwork
• Oversee Monthly Parent Involvement activities
• Schedule all field trips
• Attend community events to represent daycare
• Record and file all expenses
• Attend at least 20 hours of in-service training yearly
• Maintain Gateway classes and credentials as recommended by Owner
• Other duties assigned by the owner

Lead Teacher Primary Responsibilities

• Report directly to the Director
• Work in partnership with assistant teacher and demonstrate appropriate early childhood teaching practices
• Create weekly lesson plan and work package.
• Plan and execute appropriate activities for the children each day in art, music, language, math, science, social studies, and dramatic play
• Help children meet their developmental and emotional needs
• Complete assessment on each child every two months
• Observe and record progress for parents.
• Attend at least 20 hours of in-service training yearly
• Maintain Gateway classes and credentials per Director guidance
• Work cooperatively with staff members and parents
• Always maintain a clean room, dust, sweep, mop, and vacuum as needed
• Sanitize toys daily.
• Be available for parent conferences when necessary
• Meet the requirements for Pediatric First Aid/CPR
• Other duties as assigned by the Director based on the need on the daycare

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.08 - $21.78 per hour
