Requirements

  • Experience: 2+ years of job-related experience or equivalent education.
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Travel: A valid Driver's License and reliable transportation is required to travel between GT's facilities and locally
  • Language: Bilingual, English and Spanish (required)

Job Description

The Benefits Specialist supports the Benefits function by ensuring compliance across all processes and providing excellent service to our employees by assisting them with all benefits related inquiries meanwhile maintaining confidentiality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists the Manager of Benefits & Wellness to administer Leaves of Absence, follow up with employees, managers, and medical providers as needed to collect additional information regarding LOA or Reasonable Accommodation requests.
  • Communicates employee updates and return to work statuses to management, and sends any required notices or follow ups.
  • Audits and reconciles benefits invoices for accuracy prior to submitting to Finance, partnering with Payroll to ensure deductions reconcile.
  • Assists Benefits Manager with reviewing plan offerings with benefits vendors and brokers on a yearly basis, finalizing Open Enrollment materials and facilitating meetings with employees when they become benefits eligible.
  • Provides training to management on LOA processes and procedures.
  • Presents Benefits information at New Hire Orientations and during Open Enrollment.
  • Assists with organizing and executing employee wellness activities.
  • Collaborates with Risk & Safety, Employee Relations, and Legal to find best practice solutions.
  • Documents and files confidential benefits related employee records.
  • Supports employee population by holding office hours across several building.
  • Supports with limited Payroll processes.
