We are a Redwood City law firm specializing in trusts and estates who is looking to hire a full-time Legal Assistant.

PURPOSE AND SCOPE: The Legal Assistant supports attorney(s) with various tasks, including conducting legal research, drafting, and reviewing documents, communicating with clients, preparing hearings, trials, and meetings, and organizing and maintaining files.

WORK LOCATION AND CONDITIONS: This position will be located at the Redwood City, CA office. Regular work hours are from Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5 pm.

SALARY: The salary will be between $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 commensurate with experience plus possible bonus. The position also includes benefits such as 401k.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Administrative and Legal Support

  • Draft estate planning documents, deeds, etc.
  • Draft client correspondence
  • Maintain files (generally digital)
  • Maintain attorney calendar and ensure documents ready for client meetings
  • Schedule appointments in person or via., Zoom
  • Conduct conflicts check
  • Scan and copy documents as needed

General Duties

  • Additional duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Detail oriented and with excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional demeanor
  • Ability to work independently, manage large workloads and meet deadlines
  • Positive attitude with a client service mindset, excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to relate and interact with diverse clientele
  • Must be a self-starter and able to identify initial and next steps needed
  • Flexible and strong desire to learn
  • Exceptional time management and prioritization skills
  • Be comfortable navigating responsibilities with limited direction among multiple stakeholders
  • Proficient computer application skills including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and additional software applications

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

● High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required

● One (1) to five (5) years of experience as an administrative assistant (preferably in a law firm or in a corporate legal department), legal assistant
