Position Summary & Scope
This position is a part-time, non-exempt position (FTE .75).
Job Summary:
To process motor vehicle licensing and registration, driver’s licensing, and DNR regulated licenses.
Scope of Responsibility:
The License Center Representative provides support services for issuance of motor vehicle licensing and registration, driver’s licenses, and DNR regulated licenses under the readily available supervision of the License Center Supervisor. This position apply knowledge of the codes, policies, procedures and practices of the deputy registrar’s licensing office and perform light troubleshooting having a limited financial impact.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Review, process and enter all application data into the State of Minnesota computer system to title and/or register motor vehicles.
- Review, process and enter all application date into the State of Minnesota computer system for all driver’s license applications.
- Process DNR regulated licenses.
- Answer inquiries by phone, email or in person.
- Resolve routine problems or complaints associated with the issuance of all licenses.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Requires daily and continuous public and staff contact, requiring a high degree of tact, courtesy, and sound judgment.
- Has excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to resolves routine problems or complaints associated with the issuance of all licenses.
- Ability and desire to project a professional image through knowledge of job, positive attitude, and accurate and timely completion of work.
- Ability to exercise patience and understanding in stressful situations.
- Key characteristics include the ability to learn, interpret and process detailed practices and procedures.
- Minimum typing speed of 30 wpm.

Minimum qualifications require a high school diploma or GED and one year of customer service experience. Previous motor vehicle or driver’s license experience is desired. Must be competent with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Windows operating systems to perform job duties. Previous data entry experience is desired. Must possess valid Minnesota driver’s license and be insurable. Must be able to provide evidence of citizenship and pass a job-related background check.
