LICENSED JOURNEYMAN COMMERCIAL SERVICE ELECTRICIAN

Work consists of installation, alterations, additions and/or repairs of electrical systems, conductors and associated materials and equipment within the electrical service industry.

Responsibilities:

Proceeds with work from service requests. Has knowledge of all electrical equipment and major tools. Understands the scope of drawings and demonstrates ability to supervise others in their work performance.

• Directs and works with journeyman and helpers.
• Plans work – responsible for materials and tools.
• Installs all work correctly and efficiently.
• Demonstrates knowledge of all tools and equipment.
• Troubleshoot all electric systems.
• Monitors progress of work.

Position Requirements:

• 3+ years working as a Journeyman Service Electrician
• Ability to pass drug and background check
• Fluency in the English language
• Valid Colorado driver's license and insurable driving record
• High School graduate, holder of G.E.D. or equivalent training
• Current Colorado Journeyman’s license with a minimum of five years’ experience as a journeyman in Colorado or a reciprocating state.

Working Conditions:

• Requires working in all environmental elements.
• Must be able to utilize construction site sanitary facilities (Porta-Johns)
• Must have required personal tools at all times (waist tool belt as worn weighs approximately 30 lbs.)
• Must be able to work on all types of ladders.
• Performs work at various heights, up to 90’ from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, cat walks or other safe work areas.
• Works in restricted areas (switchgear room, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, attics, etc.)
• Wears personal protective equipment in compliance with Company Safety

Policy.

• Requires repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers.
• Able to work 8-10 hours per day, 40 hours per week, overtime as required and night shifts.
• Willing to drive to job sites in the entire Denver Metro area

Skills:

• Positively identifies colors
• Comprehends reading and drawing blueprints and schematics of same
• Bends conduit by hand with hand benders.
• Effectively uses all power hand tools, saws, threaders, wire tuggers, hydraulic benders, and knockout punches.
• Capable of digging trenches, either by use of hand tools or power equipment.
• Operates equipment, trenchers, backhoe, lift trucks, etc. in a safe manner.
• Practices and comprehends safe work procedures as outlined in FEC Safety

Policy, Haz-Com Policy, and Lockout/Tagout Policy.

• Operates two (2) handed tools/equipment, cable cutters, hammers drills, compression tools, and jack hammers.
• Operates company trucks.
• Reads and interprets maps, instructional manuals, specifications, work site directions, blueprints, and written instructions.
• Operates and works from mechanical personnel lifts (electric or gas powered).
• Works on energized circuits and equipment with company management approval as outlined in Safety Policy.
• Supervises assigned jobsite employees to complete project.
• Trains apprentices, manages jobs, and communicates with owners/customers
• Comfort and proficiency in a leadership role

Physical Function:

• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach over head.
• Lifts 50 pounds unassisted.
• Constantly moves by foot and climbs ladders (all types).
• Completes overhead work for full-day assignments.
• Must be able to make transition from employee parking area or street into construction work areas and to gain access to all levels of the building, even if the only means of access is by OSHA approved site construction ladders or stairs still under construction but acceptable for use.
• Possesses good vision (normal or corrected).
• Responsible for securing tools and materials from storage areas to complete assigned tasks
• Responsible, reliable, and professional
