UPMC Urology of Central PA is looking to add a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to their team. This busy and growing practice has 5 physicians, 3 Nurse Practitioners, and 2 hospital providers. UPMC Urology of Central PA urologists provide professional expertise and individualized care for conditions of the urinary tract, kidneys, prostate, bladder. We also offer a full range of urological procedures. As an LPN, you will assist the providers with procedures in the office on a regular basis. The LPN that would best fit our office is someone that is professional, hardworking, compassionate, respectful, and have the ability to work as part of a cohesive team.

HOURS: Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm. NO WEEKENDS, NO HOLIDAYS, NO ON-CALL

Responsibilities:

• Will be assigned to a physician and room patients.
• Assess patient's general condition, take vital signs & weight.
• Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
• Assist with office procedures including but not limited to Cystoscopies, Catheterizations, Injections, Voiding Trials, Vasectomies, and more.
• Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.
• Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
• Comply with all policies and procedures
• Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
• Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
• Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM, and IV drip.
• Perform IV therapy under direction of Registered Nurse.

• Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.
• 1-year clinical experience preferred, but not required

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) OR Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
• Act 34 with renewal
