Stephens Memorial Hospital has 1 PRN opening for a Licensed Vocational Nurse to work at Breckenridge Medical Center (Clinic) .

Location: Breckenridge Medical Center 201 S Hartford st Breckenridge Tx 76424

The LVN works under the direct supervision of the Clinic Supervisor, is a professional caregiver who provides medical services to the clinic patients under the guidance of the clinic supervisor and the Physician.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Ensure that nursing practice within the department is consistent with the scope of the Nurse Practice Act of the state of Texas.
2.Maintain positive and effective working relationships with other departments.
3.Ability to perform a complete assessment to include vital signs, height and weight of the patients on admission to clinic.
4.Provide patient teaching on health problems, as needed using protocols.
5.Assists Physician through clinic appointments and follow specific orders.
6.Assists staff in maintaining a clean work environment in all areas.
7.Maintain confidentially of all records in the clinic (patient and employee).
8.Responsible for monitoring of all equipment, supplies, and ensures equipment is in proper working order and that sufficient stock of supplies are on hand to accommodate patients as necessary.
9.Appropriate uniform with ID badge worn at all times.
10.Attends 100% of all mandatory staff meetings.
11.Willingness to adapt to rotating schedule or fill in for co-workers if necessary due to illness, vacation, etc.
12.Adheres to the policies of Stephens Memorial Hospital and follows all safety and conduct rules.
13.Performs all other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
1.Current licensure to practice as a Licensed Vocational Nurse from the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas.
2.Current CPR training.
3.Continuing Education hours annually as mandated by the State of Texas and Stephens Memorial Hospital.
4.Two (2) years of nursing and previous experience in a clinic setting preferred.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
1.A thorough knowledge of nursing techniques, procedures and medical terminology at the level of a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
2.Effective skill in giving and receiving oral and written direction in detail in applying licensed vocational nursing techniques and practices.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1.Ability to tolerate walking, standing or sitting for extended periods of time (up to 2 hours).
2.Ability to safely assist others in moving patients who may weigh 50-350 pounds.
3.Must possess fine motor skills required of an LVN (i.e., drawing blood, starting IV's, vital signs, etc.).
4.Sensory skills to differentiate clinical signs.

2.Demonstrate written and verbal communication skills, which elicit positive and productive outcomes.
3.Demonstrate commitment to continue self-improvement, honesty, integrity and character which reflects an atmosphere of professionalism in providing quality care

Hours: M-F 8-5

Salary: depends on experience.
