A typical day in the life as a Licensing and Recruitment Specialist:

  • Coordinating and participating in recruitment and retention activities.
  • Orienting prospective foster families through individual and group processes.
  • Coordinating services with foster care and adoption programs and staff.
  • Developing of marketing plans, marketing materials, and coordinating special events.
  • Providing inquiry services and information to prospective resource families.
  • Collaborating with community partners.
  • Assisting with the development of annual recruitment and retention plans.
  • Certifying and maintaining foster homes in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Division of Child Welfare, Department of Health and Human Services, and the Council on Accreditation.
  • Assesing and training foster parents and relatives.
  • Participating in on-call placements, day-in, and emergency services.
  • Drviing and transporting

This position is responsible for leadership and recruitment of foster and adoptive parents. Assesses marketing strategies for foster and adoptive home recruitment and develops plans for retention of resource families. Develops and organizes special events to support the Agency and community.

This position is also responsible for assessing and licensing foster home applicants and maintaining those homes for the placement of foster children. Trains, prepares and supports foster parents. Responsible for coordinating with foster care program staff during the placement of foster children.

Employment Qualifications:

Education:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or a related field is required.

Experience:

  • A minimum of one year of child welfare experience working in the field of Human Services is required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • None required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
