Akerman LLP, a top 100 U.S. law firm serving clients across the Americas, is seeking a Litigation Paralegal for its San Antonio office. Working with the firm's Litigation Practice Group, the successful candidate will be highly motivated and possess a minimum of 5 years’ litigation experience, preferably in a regional or national law firm setting. The Litigation Paralegal will assist and support all aspects of a heavy litigation practice. Qualified candidates should possess a working knowledge of the Texas/Federal Rules of Civil Procedures and Texas Statutes, be able to effectively handle the multiple and varied responsibilities of case management and trial preparation; including drafting and analyzing legal documents, performing legal research, and working with discovery documents in a fast-paced team environment. Trial experience as well as knowledge of summarizing medical records, HIPAA releases and organizing medical information for experts, depositions and trials is highly desired. The ability to exhibit meticulous attention to detail, and produce an accurate and high-quality work product are essential requirements for this position. Strong organizational and communication skills, a strong working knowledge of computer applications and litigation support systems including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Relativity is needed.
