Overview:
Bowhead seeks an electronics system Logistician to join our team at NSWCDD Dahlgren, VA.

The Logistician must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment and will be responsible for following SOPs and established techniques.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide logistical support to a team of hardware and RF engineers.
  • Works from schematics, engineering drawings and technical instructions to market research and procure prototype components, tools, and test equipment.
  • Sets up and configures test equipment, systems, test articles.
  • Assist with maintenance of laboratory and equipment, including laboratory organization, inventory, and supply maintenance.
  • Procurement planning and coordination.
  • Perform tests and records data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.
  • Able to fluently read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Observe all Occupational, Safety and Health guidance.
  • Test and troubleshoot existing hardware.
  • Apply principles of basic electronics circuitry.
  • Analyze hardware specifications and system/subsystem requirements to conceive and document a practical design for hardware components to include: storage devices, user interface devices, and special processors.
  • Adjust or recommend enhancements in systems and new hardware as well as modify existing hardware to add features and functionality.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • HS or equivalent, 5+ years’ experience in engineer and or technical environment.
  • Experience in Navy parts procurement processes required
  • Experience in a prototyping and testing environment required
  • Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control understanding.
  • Knowledgeable of standard test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must be able to work and learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.
  • Capability to clearly communicate with coworkers, customers, and superiors.

Desired Skill and Abilities:
  • Experience with RF, circuit, and system simulation tools.
  • Use and configurations of RF test equipment.
  • Good understanding of RF/circuit design concepts, patterns, tools, and best practices.
  • Knowledgeable, capable of troubleshooting electronic circuits to component level.
  • Lay out, build, test, repair, and modify military grade cable assemblies.
  • Willingness to learn and apply the best technology for a given application.
  • Knowledge of AS 9100 and ISO 9001.
  • IPC soldering certificate and/or experience with soldering crimping connectors.
  • Familiar with cable design and fabrication


Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically


SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able obtain and maintain security clearance at the Top Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for a Top Secret clearance at this location.
