Main Purpose of the Role:

Handling of all cases and incidents related to unclaimed and/or abandoned cargoes within CCA District; assists Ops and Log Manager and VP as directed.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

Responsible for Idling Full Containers/Equipment in the CCA district, monitoring, management, and administration of all unclaimed /abandoned cargoes cases and return of the Equipment in the Caribbean and Central America District.

Main Tasks:

 Maintains active unclaimed/abandoned cargoes files

 Implements best administration and management practices with respect to abandoned/unclaimed cargoes

 Monitors reports of potential unclaimed cargoes; assists country / agency with administration of Unclaimed Cargoes (including issue of notice, providing update to other Regions and reporting)

 Monitors reporting of unclaimed cargoes in relevant systems (e.g., IQShip /AgenTeam, Insurance)

 Coordinates and/or assists with response to requests from other regions for action relative to unclaimed and/or abandoned cargoes

 Logistics monitoring Discharge Full containers on the terminal over 30 days

 Containers Out to Client Full for over 30 days

 Containers In Full for Export on terminal for over 30 days

 Monitoring return of equipment after abandonment, Auction, disposal etc.

 Container movement updates for small islands.

 Any other duties as assigned

 Reviews Region and Agency reports, identifying high risk merchants, trades, and cargoes for reporting to Region and Agency Trade and Marketing departments

 Compiles country unclaimed cargoes reports (monthly)

 Assists Global unclaimed cargo center with reporting and plans of action for all unclaimed cargoes in the region.

 Processes and monitors invoices relative to recovery.

Requirements:

• Academic education: Bachelor’s Degree (B.A./B.S.); one or two years related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of training education and experience. Marine Logistics, Finance and/or Cargo Claims experience a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills; ability to work effectively in with a broad range of constituencies in a diverse community.
• One year certificate from college or technical school; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel Spreadsheet software and databases preferred.
