Shed Rain is a family-owned consumer products company with major national retail customers like Costco, Fred Meyer, Nordstrom, Macy's, and Target and we are expanding our product lines and our Ecommerce business channels. Due to our growth and opportunities, we need to add a Logistics Coordinator who will work closely with the International Logistics Lead to ensure a smooth transition of inventory from Shed Rain’s overseas manufacturing partners to our domestic fulfillment facilities plus other responsibilities. This role reports into Shed Rain’s COO and will be based in Portland, Oregon where we work in a hybrid model (2 days in office, other days optional).

Daily Activities Include (but are not limited to):

  • Communicate with factories regarding the on-time release of goods to the Forwarder(s)/ports.
  • Communicate with freight forwarder(s) to coordinate bookings and cargo deliveries from the factories to the ports and release of dedicated containers to the factories. Adjust shipments when there are changes to the bookings.
  • Validate data on the PO(s) for accuracy, for each ‘booking’ requires a detailed audit/review and update PO(s) in our ERP with any approved changes and send to the factories.
  • Once cargo has delivered and sailing schedule(s) are provided from the Carriers through the Forwarders, the ship dates, and ETAs are to be revised in our ERP system.
  • Maintain the inbound calendars and update the status of the shipments for visibility for Planning, Sales and Inventory Mgt.
  • Coordinate with Customs Entry Brokers to ensure clearance/release of goods once the shipments reach the US ports.
  • Ensure receipts from “receiving” warehouse match 100% with the official documentation from the factories. Any discrepancies are reviewed and resolved.
  • Gather International Air and Ocean Freight quotes and advise the best options for Shed Rain on how to proceed with the requested shipping method.
  • Maintain open and collaborative dialogue with other Shed Rain functions to coordinate activities and improve end-to-end supply chain visibility, performance, and productivity.
  • Provide early, proactive communication with internal customers (Sales, Order Processing, and Inventory Mgt.) to eliminate surprises.
  • Stay abreast of market conditions (ocean freight, domestic drayage/trucking, international airfreight) and best practices to develop and execute strategies to flow product in the most economical manner.
  • Contribute to other company projects and initiatives, as needed.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years commercial management logistics experience
  • At least 3 years of working with an ERP
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office365 (especially Outlook, Excel, and Teams)
  • Familiar with Shipping Documentation and customs clearance in the US (things like B/L, AWB, Incoterms, CoO, etc.)
  • Associates degree required (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • Previous experience with warehousing, order fulfilment, and shipping (freight forwarding)
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, and manage competing priorities within a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with good use of English

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $29.00 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:
Regularly updating our CV-19 protocols. Currently there are no mandated requirements. Also, local employees work from the office on Tues and Thurs and have the option to work remote other days.
