Position Overview

This position is responsible for coordinating marine and terminal operations to satisfy customer order fulfillment. This position also works closely with the dispatch manager, sales reps and management, as well as TNY construction associates.


Roles and Responsibilities

(Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Manage terminal vendors coordinating inventory needs versus levels and customer service.
  • Coordinate with BMLP loadings, deliveries and unloadings to terminal and external customers
  • Coordinate with sales and BMLP potential new marine delivery locations and jobs.
  • Build relationships with customers and vendors to gain knowledge of local market activity including projects and hauler activity.
  • Coordinate large stone job scheduling and fullfillment in regards to customer long term schedule.
  • Coordinate truck recruiting in all markets with Dispatch Manager.
  • Liaison with Dispatch, Construction, Operations, Scales and Hired Hauler regarding safety and performance
  • Field Performance coordination on customer and construction jobs as needed.
  • Assist the Dispatch Manager in procuring hauler assets to meet day to day needs and determined by customer orders.
  • Field safety evaluations (construction and customer job site visits)
  • Work with BMLP as directed by the Director of Transportation
  • Works with TNY Terminal vendors on special projects as directed.
  • Understand and comply with Tilcon New York Inc and Oldcastle procedures, policies and processes.
  • Maintains professional demeanor in dealing with critical/confidential information; restricts discussion/knowledge of activity to a “need to know” basis.
  • Regular and timely attendance is required.
  • Additional duties as assigned or required.


Marginal Duties and Functions

  • Assist with other departmental needs (safety meetings, hauler meetings, etc)
  • Assists other departments as requested or assigned


Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.


Education/Experience

Required

  • High School Degree


Preferred

  • 4-year college degree; or four to five-years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the preferred knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • High level of proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to understand and apply State and US DOT rules and regulations.


Work Requirements

  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and company procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends when required.
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA. Protective equipment that may be required, but not limited to, for this position is: Face Shield, Safety Glasses, Safety (hard toe) Shoes, Dust masks & Hearing Protection.
  • Understanding of NJ DOT and DOL regulations
  • Understanding of insurance forms and verbiage
  • Experience in customer service or regulations


Knowledge/Skill Requirements

  • Knowledge of State and US DOT rules and regulations.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
