Job Summary: The Customer Service Specialist is responsible for handling all data entry, track and tracing loads, imaging, and service oversight. Frequently solves problems through research of multiple alternatives.

Essential Functions:

  • Make check calls to carriers in transit and provide service updates
  • Make check calls to any carrier picking up or delivering during the business hours
  • Submit new customer requests
  • Enter customer order details in TMS
  • Update any service failures and problem solve for any major service issues when applicable
  • Respond to any communications received from customers and Freight Broker
  • Accurately enter and maintain up to date information on a continuous basis in TMS.
  • Work quickly to resolve problems that may develop on a load.
  • Ensure that all carrier documentation is completed and received prior to carrier utilization.
  • Provide status update daily to team
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed based on the needs of the customer and business.

Knowledge, Experience and Key Competencies:

· B.A or equivalent experience preferred. Will accept any reasonable combination of education, training, and experience.

· 0-3 years’ experience in a fast-paced customer service environment

· Experience in the transportation industry is a plus

· Experience navigating transportation management systems is a plus

· Strong negotiating, problem solving skills

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to work independently and/or in a team environment

· Excellent time management, organizational, and multi-tasking skills · Customer service approach with a sense of urgency

· Ability to work in a face paced work environment with rapidly changing priorities

· A positive, motivated, can-do attitude to excel beyond expectations

· Working knowledge of MS Office Suite and understanding of various computer programs

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
