The LPN or CMA provides care and support to patients under the direction of the physician or advance practice practitioner.

Responsibilities of this position include:

• Obtains and maintains needed certifications to conduct urine drug and breath alcohol collections in accordance with the US Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, as well as drug collection from hair and oral fluid.
• Maintains competency in all services provided by the department such as fit testing, spirometry, audio testing, obtaining vitals, administering vaccines and blood glucose testing.
• Has a basic understanding of DOT guidelines as they relate to drug and alcohol testing and the functions of the Consortium for random drug and alcohol testing needs.
• Performs clinic procedures for a variety of appointment types including physical exams and injury management.
• Orders and maintains clinic supplies.
• Calibrates and monitors equipment in the department.
• As needed, reports to a company to perform nursing services such as immunizations or fit testing.
• Contacts companies with confidential results from their employee appointments.
• Able to competently work within two different electronic medical records as well as Microsoft office.

Requirements of this position include:

• High School Diploma or GED
• CMA - Completion of Certified Medical Assistant Program; Registered Medical Assistant; Certified Medical Assistant Certification
• LPN - Current Wisconsin LPN license; 1 year experience as a LPN in a clinic or acute care setting is preferred
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Cognitive process to interpret office situation and respond appropriately; adaptable to change; able to cope with stress and criticism.
• BLS Certification
