Answers the toll-free intake line for multiple CCSE regions. Communicates on a basic level with others (internally and externally) to provide, exchange or verify information. Provide inquiries, address issues, or resolve/report problems or complaints. Routes calls and takes messages as appropriate. Operates a computer using the Service Authorization System Online (SASO) and Texas Integrated Eligibility Redesign System (TIERS) to document, update or inquire into case records. Interviews and assesses applicants for potential eligibility for Community Care Services Eligibility program under Health and Human Services. Serves as client advocate and agency representative in locating available resources and making referrals to community resources as deemed appropriate. Be able to work a regular and predictable work schedule and be willing to report to a remote community partner site. Completes additional tasks, projects or other assignments upon request of management staff.
Ability to report casework and communicate with others in a professional manner. Ability to explain complex or difficult information in a pleasant and understandable manner. Ability to read and interpret policy, procedures and information. Knowledge of interviewing concepts. Ability to communicate verbally with applicants, consumers and the general public. Ability to verify and gather information and/or follow and explain program policies and/or procedures. Knowledge of community resources available to persons who are elderly or have disabilities. Ability to prepare, create and update Excel spreadsheets, narratives, reports, and correspondence in a clear and concise manner. Knowledge in the usage of IT systems to include, Excel, Word, E-mail, SharePoint and any software useful in documenting work activities to include create and update Excel spreadsheets. The ability to enter information in automated system while talking on the telephone. The ability to perform research and generate referral with gathered information.

Job offer will be at the entry level, Screener I salary $2075.83 to $3,047.58.
