SUMMARY

Machine and inspect parts that are needed for jobs at RSC.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES (MR’s) AND PERFORMANCE STANDARDS (PS’s) include the following AND ALL other duties as assigned.

Sets up, programs and machines the parts needed

• Manually programs the machine for the specific part needed at the time.
• Ensures maintenance of current job tracking systems.
• Ensures tool and machine proper usage and preventive maintenance.
• Ensures safe work practices throughout the Department.
• Ensures departmental participation in ISO quality.

Will need to run different Machines.

• Depending on the job, they may need to run the lathe, Haas or the CNC.
• Will also have to clean the machine that is being run at the end of the day for longevity of the machine and housekeeping in their department.

Inspect parts

• Will need to check parts and inspect them to ensure the parts meet the measurement on the print.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associates Degree or machinist certification and two years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional classes (courses, seminars) would include:

• Machining classes
• Management classes

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with employees, all Departments, and with outside vendors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
