A local Iron Works in the Aitkin Area is looking to hire Machinists, CNC workers and a purchasing specialist for their shift.

Machinist

This company specialises in machining, welding, and precision cutting. A successful candidate will interpret client specifications and enter them into the CNC machine, set up the machine and monitor it as it operates, and ensure the excellence of the products by following inspection protocols and detecting errors before products are released.

Job Duties:

• Operate machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments
• Review samples, drawings, or instructions to understand specifications of output
• Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job
• Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping
• Determine and program size of batches, speed of machine etc.
• Calculate dimensions and tolerance using measuring instruments

Skills & requirements:

• Lathe and Mill operation experience
• Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers and micrometers) to take accurate measurements
• Knowledge of the properties of metal and other material
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals, and set-up repeat jobs
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds

Compensation:

• $16 per hour base rate, more depending on skill and experience
• 6 am-4:30 pm

CNC Machinist

A successful candidate is one who has experience using CNC machines who can handle hard work helping to make refined Iron, Steel and Aluminium products. This business will train willing candidates!

Skill & Requirements:

• Two year experience using CNC machine tools
• Trade degree is a bonus
• One year experience setting up is a bonus
• 1st Shift:
• Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 4:30 pm

2nd Shift:

• Monday through Thursday 4:30 pm to 4:00 am

Compensation:

• $19.00-28.50 per hour,
• Up to $1500 sign on bonus depending on experience!

Purchasor

The role of Purchasing is to obtain requirements by verifying, preparing, and forwarding purchase orders, verifying receipt of items, and authorizing payments.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Cut all POs on time for company support
• Review stock status, open buy, and material to determine reorder requirements
• Coordinate and manage all activities during purchasing process and follow through
• Monitor supplier on time delivery
• Assist Operations Manager with other tasks as assigned

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 1-3 years’ experience in purchasing or related field
• Workplace Skills: Problem solving, teamwork, planning, and organizing
• Purchasing skills: Supply chain, ERP/MRP software, Microsoft office (Excel and Word)
• Understanding of manufacturing process and flow
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Able to implement continuous improvement practices for purchasing and company wide
