We are looking for a detail oriented Mail Inserter Operator - 3rd Shift to join our team. This individual will set-up and push button operators to operate letter and flat envelope machine-inserting production equipment, i.e., Bell and Howell Swing-Arm inserters and Pitney-Bowes high-speed inserters.

*3rd Shift is 12am-8am*

Job Duties

• Ability to operate inserting equipment independently with minimal training or supervision.
• Ability to assist and mentor other inserting operators.
• Ability to use knowledge and experience to present solutions when machine challenges arise.
• Create and implement work instructions as needed.
• Setup, startup and properly operate each piece of postal mailing inserting equipment trained on within the mailroom department. This would include but is not limited to inserters, metering equipment, bindery equipment and shipping software.
• Evaluate job order and operating processes to ensure all quality controls are in place to prevent machine error from occurring.
• Inspect inserted mail pieces and conduct quality checks in accordance with process standards and guidelines.
• Inspect envelopes inserted to piece level tracking system DRS (when applicable), ensure all mail pieces are reconciled and accounted for. Report discrepancies to supervisor.
• Assist in hand inserting projects as needed.
• Advise operations supervisor of any needed machine repairs. Log all occurrence into maintenance manual located at machine.
• Ensure meter logs are filled out completely and accurately. Turn in all meter logs for billing.
• Monitor envelope stock usage and advise mailroom manager if inventory begins to get low. Assist with inventory movements and inventory count, as needed.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas.
• Complete all required documentation as it relates to production, quality and equipment maintenance.
• Other duties as assigned by management

Education

Minimum Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience

1-2 years field related experience with inserting equipment.

Knowledge & Skills

• Read and interpret instructions and numbers (in English) at a level necessary to perform essential functions.
• Possess basic computer terminal knowledge, keyboard skills.

Physical Requirements

• Required to physically perform the basic functions of reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and perform repetitive motions.
• Occasionally required to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time and able to lift up to 50 lbs. of stock material.
• Must possess visual abilities to perform extended reading and computer work.

Work Environment

• Production facility: Moderate noise level, climate controlled.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
