Mail Room Clerk; Mon-Friday; 7:30am- 4:00pm; 80 hours
Job description
The Mail Room Clerk is responsible for picking up, sorting and preparing mail and packages; and for posting and delivering all US Mail back to the Post Office.
The Mail Room Clerk reports directly to the Director of Purchasing.
- Picks up mail and delivers mail back to Post Office via hospital vehicle.
- Sorts all mail in the morning and afternoon and prepares mail for shipment – including use of hospital posting machine.
- Assists with purchasing for “in town” runs, such as to local retail establishments and supermarkets.
- Is responsible for errands around Sedalia, including doing hospital banking business and other errands as directed by the Director of Materials Management.
- Assists with storeroom duties as required (when in slack times) which includes helping inventory control clerks and messengers.
a.) High school diploma or equivalent education preferred.
b.) Must be 18 years of age or older.
c.) Must have a valid Missouri Chauffeur’s Drivers license and a safe driving record.
