Maintenance 1, (Boat/Tram Mechanic) - Hilton Waikoloa Village
Job description
Hourly wage range: $30. 28 - $33. 65
Maintain and repair Boat and Tram and Tramway equipment and systems throughout the facility to ensure safe and proper operation. Perform repair and maintenance tasks in support of quality standards encompassing as variety of skills of different trades, including but not limited to: air conditioning, electronics and electrical and mechanical work.
What will I be doing?
- Visually inspect, operate, maintain and repair all Boat/Tram and Tramway equipment througout the facility. Work in confined spaces and awkward position, requiring crouching, kneeling, stooping and reaching overhead for extended periods of time is required. Interact with the Boat/Tram Drivers and assist in start-up shut down and operation of all Boat/Tram equipment.
- Perform scheduled and non-scheduled maitenance. Repair, maintain and troubleshoot Air conditioning systems, Electrice drive systems, Tram and Tram way control and signaling equipment in accordance with wiring diagrams, schematics, operations manuals and manufactures maintenance instructions, using test equipment such as volt meter, armprobe and hand and power tools.
EDUCATION
Any combination of education and
experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination
of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge,
skills and abilities. High school diploma preferred. Trade school education or
apprenticeship program preferred.
EXPERIENCE
2 Years experience in marine specific
propulsion systems or comparable automotive maintenance work required.
LICENSES
OR CERTIFICATES
Type 3 Hawaii Drivers License required. Ability to
obtain Tuberculosis Clearance Certificate. CPR Certificate and First Aid
training preferred. Scuba Certification desired.
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and components to maintain and repair electrical equipment.
- Knowledge of Marine inboard and outboard internal combustion engines and components to maintain and repair.
- Knowledge of safe working practices in regards to wire sizes, fuse sizes and overloading of electrical circuits.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and regulations.
- Skill in electrical aptitude, Trade mathematics and trade communications.
- Skill in use of related instruments and tools, including volt-OHM meter, amprobe, hand tools and small power tools.
- Ability to operate a forklift, electric cart, electric lift and pick-up truck.
- Basic English language communication skills in order to complete logs, read blueprints and mechanical drawings, communicate with co-workers and fully comprehend job assignments.
- Basic trade mathematical skills in order to calculate quantities of materials, areas covered, layout plans and prepare moderately complex mathematical calculations using a calculator.
- Ability to push, pull or otherwise transport objects or materials weighing up to 200 Ibs. using a hand truck/cart or other wheeled assistance.
- Abilit to perform tasks consistently while bending, stooping, kneeling or standing while supporting, grasping, lifting or carrying items weighing up to 50 Ibs.
- Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information, and solve customer concerns.
- Ability to walk throughout the hotel, both indoors and outdoors and stand continuously throughout the shift.
- Ability to work in unfavorable conditions, which can occasionally be hot, noisy and wet.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and in awkward positions.
- Sufficient manual dexterity of hand to manipulate switches, operate fine hand tools and adjust and maintain equipment.
- Visual ability to read manufacturers instructions, schematics and blueprints and determine wire colors for safe repair.
