ESSENTIAL DUTIES for Electronic Maintenance:

Environment, Health, and Safety

Demonstrate ability to accurately determine colors of wires, resistors and other electrical components
Understand and abide by all GAF Safety Rules and Policies at all times
Read and understand all Safe Job Procedures in applicable SOPs and JSAs.
Properly operate all mobile equipment
Demonstrate complete understanding of LOTO as related to mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and other industrial equipment
Demonstrate caution and proper body mechanics when physically moving or positioning items
Know and wear PPE appropriate for your work area
Know and wear PPE appropriate for all levels of electrical work
Perform daily housekeeping responsibilities.
Safely operate grinders, sanders, drill press, hand tools and other equipment associated with mechanical or electrical job duties
Other EH&S duties as assigned
Electrical and Instrumentation Knowledge

Understanding and operation of electrical test equipment-ohmmeter, amp probe, oscilloscope, frequency generator,
Understanding of transformers, AC and DC motors, wiring and insulation, motor starters, relays, contactors, thermal overloads, clutches/brakes and photoelectric circuits
Understanding of electrical and electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies to include power supplies, rectifiers, resistor, diodes and other electronic components
Understanding of the operation of relays, modulating controls and other industrial control devices
Understanding of OHM’s law and the ability to manipulate this for calculating electrical/electronic limits, sizing and loading
Knowledge of the following computer skills: internet, email, windows, spreadsheets and word documents
Methods of soldering and de-soldering of electronic components
Understanding of PLCs and associated components
Basic Understanding of the fundamentals for the Wonderware Platform.
Basic Understanding of Servo Programming.
Job Tasks

Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics for AC/DC motors, motor controls, instrument loops, temperature measurement and indication systems, and general plant wiring
Install, test, maintain and troubleshoot electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices, load cells, motors, and other industrial equipment
Solder joints, wires, components as required to install or repair instrumentation and electrical devices.
Calculate electrical loads, wire sizes and switch ratings for new and existing equipment
Understand and explain basic computer networking with ability to troubleshoot.
Interpret and Troubleshoot PLC programs, specifically both Allen Bradley and Siemens systems.
Interpret and Troubleshoot basic Wonderware SCADA and HMI.
Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures
Perform preventative maintenance through inspection of electrical and instrumentation systems, equipment and components. Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot problems identified and resolve with limited oversight from subject matter experts.
Interpret/convert relay logic applied in control systems
Install, test, maintain and troubleshoot equipment in places of up to a maximum of 125’ high inside the basket of an articulating boom lift, scissor lift, aerial work platform or man-basket on a forklift
Troubleshoot, maintain and repair machinery and associated components using appropriate test equipment
Cut, thread, bend and assemble rigid or thin-walled conduit (EMT)
Inform supervisor of progress, problems and concerns related to job assignments, plant condition, equipment status and safety conditions
Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records while completing all required written and electronic documentation
Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot electrical motor control circuits and components
Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot E-Stops, light curtains and associated protection devices
Perform work duties with little to no supervision
Interact with all levels of GAF employees with a customer focused attitude
Work as a collaborative team member with other maintenance technicians, controls specialists and engineers to diagnose, maintain and repair plant equipment
Maintain a clean and orderly work area
Make efficient use of time while properly and accurately completing work associated
When not engaged in regular duties, perform other work as required
Perform basic mechanical duties
Perform other duties and tasks as assigned

Education/Experience

2 years’ experience as ET I or similar experience
2 year degree in Industrial Electronics/Electricity from a recognized technical college
Must pass ET II test
