We are currently seeking a Maintenance Manager for our Shelby Twp, MI location. Under the direction of the Plant Manager, this position will apply knowledge of Mechanical and Controls Technologies to new and existing processes to maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness. Direct and/or participate in root cause analysis and team problem solving activities. Train, coach, and mentor maintenance technicians and technical team members.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Maintenance Manager will be reporting to the Plant Manager and will be responsible for leading the department.
- Complete ownership of the Maintenance and Reliability function.
- Responsible for the training and development of staff.
- Responsible for complete AM/PM schedule of all plant capital equipment.
- Manage all external service providers and relationships with contractors.
- Project Management activities inclusive of equipment installations.
- Work cross functionally with different internal departments including Engineering, Operations, and Quality.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Candidate should have at least 4-6 years of Plant Maintenance Leadership experience.
- Degree is preferred but will consider candidates with applicable experience.
- Experience in high speed/fast paced manufacturing environment is required.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and work cross functionally with other team members.
Technical Position Qualifications
- Strong Mechanical Aptitude.
- Injection Molding Machine Repair and Maintenance.
- Read and understand electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and prints.
- Over Head Crane and Forklift Operations.
- Optical, Inductive, Capacitive sensors.
- Power supplies and transformers.
- Extensive Robot experience: Primarily Fanuc and ABB Robots.
- Experience programming Allen Bradley/Rockwell and Siemens PLC/HMI software.
- Industrial Networks Knowledge. (Ethernet I/P, DeviceNet, Profibus, ControlNet.)
- Experience with VFD and Servo drive systems.
- Through knowledge of power distribution as it applies to machine controls.
- Knowledgeable in the design and application of fluid power controls. (hydraulic, pneumatic, vacuum).
- Thorough knowledge of electro-mechanical control devices. (optical, inductive, capacitive sensors / contactors, relays, switches / power supplies and transformers / motors and motor starters.)
- Knowledge of Common Machine Guarding Devices. (Bumper Strips, Light Curtains, Area Scanners, etc.)
- Experience with vision systems.
- Read and understand electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and prints.
- Lock Out Tag Out.
- General machine safety, electrical safety and machine guarding: high level of safety awareness (OSHA, NEC and RIA).
- Supports Quality System for ISO 14001/IATF16949 including but not limited to Corrective and Preventative Actions.
- Computer literacy and good knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
