THE HOURS FOR THE MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN POSITION WORKING THE AFTERNOON SHIFT ARE 11AM-7PM, BUT MAY BE SUBJECT TO CHANGE.

THIS IS A FULL-TIME, SEASONAL POSITION WITH POTENTIAL TO BE YEAR-ROUND. THIS POSITION QUALIFIES FOR THE BHYC BENEFITS PACKAGE ONCE YEAR-ROUND.

The Maintenance Technician (Afternoon Shift) position is a great opportunity for candidates who are passionate about keeping all Club facilities functional and presentable for members and guests. The hours for the Maintenance Technician position working the Afternoon Shift are 11am-7pm, but may be subject to change.

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician is a working hourly position responsible for the routine maintenance and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and utilities systems.

Job Duties:

• Maintains and makes general repairs to the plumbing fixtures, furniture, woodwork, electrical systems, appliances, elevators, ventilation systems and building structures of the club.

• Maintains the air conditioning, refrigerators, ice makers and pool pumps.

• Supervises the filtration and chlorination of swimming pool, tests swimming pool water; and maintains daily log of water test results for local health department inspections.

• Performs routine preventive maintenance (PM) required by club’s PM procedures.

• Installs tile, drywall; makes grouting repairs, patches walls and paves brick.

• Repairs small motors.

• Attends departmental staff meetings.

• Work with outside contractors as necessary and be knowledgeable of outside project statuses and timeline completions

• Follows processes and procedures for preventative maintenance programs and routine repair work in support of facility related operations on and around the BHYC property

• Monitor and motivate employees to complete internal projects in timely manner

• Diagnose issues and develop solutions, alerting the Maintenance Director and Director of Facilities as necessary

• Assist with set-up of Events during summer season according to table diagrams

• Performs other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience:

• 1-2 years experience in maintenance field or related areas preferred

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; College degree in related field preferred

Job Competencies:

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Strong organizational skills to prioritize work activities within project and operations required

• Strong interpersonal skills required

• Possess knowledge of commercial building systems including preventative maintenance programs and routine repairs, mechanical and electrical

• CDL license preferable

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Working Conditions:

Work will generally be performed in both indoor and outdoor environments. Temperatures can range from 100+ F to 32 F, and there may be exposure to loud noises and sustained elements. Working schedule is generally 40 hours per week, with some holidays, weekends and travel required. Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as required. General standing, walking, lifting, pushing and pulling movements are required.
