Collins Community Credit Union, a growing organization, is currently hiring a Maintenance Technician. This person will be a competitive, independent, "doer" who can problem solve and get things done through people. No two days will be the same. In this role, you will assist the Senior Maintenance Technician to perform basic maintenance and repairs of the Credit Union's facilities in Cedar Rapids, North Liberty, Iowa City, Dubuque, Cedar Falls, Ames, and Des Moines.

Essential Functions:

• Inspect buildings, electrical systems, grounds, and equipment to ensure safe, well-maintained conditions. Identify hazards or defects and the need for adjustment or repair.
• Complete maintenance work orders as assigned and in a timely manner.
• Assist with janitorial, snow removal, and shipping/receiving tasks.
• Assist with moving, loading, unloading, and storing of supplies, equipment, furniture, etc.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors.
• Communicate effectively in a professional, tactful, and courteous manner with staff and membership.
• Perform all assigned responsibilities and tasks in a safe manner and with minimal supervision.

Working Conditions:

This position requires frequent movement, as well as working in various indoor and outdoor settings; constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery (i.e., a calculator, copy machine and computer printer); ability to lift and transport 50lbs safely and have the ability to move furniture; the physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Job Qualifications:

High School education with diploma, GED or equivalent; knowledge of Credit Union policies, products and procedures; basic handyman & troubleshooting experience with an understanding of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC concepts; Familiarity with the use of basic hand tools; prior experience with estimating, budgeting, and financial administration; a strong and proven work ethic and demonstrated ability to accept and meet new challenges; must have a clean driving record and reliable transportation to/from work; must be bondable in accordance with the State of Iowa and CCCU guidelines.
