Maintenance Technician / Food Manufacturer
General Duties: Maintaining and repairing machinery, HVAC experience, knowledge in repairing and maintaining physical structures of building, and maintaining grounds. Must follow company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), sanitation standards, and USDA/FDA/SQF requirements. Will train in food manufacturing safety.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to work as a team with CEO and facility managers while interacting positively with all facility personnel;
- Direct and supervise independent contractors while ensuring the contractor follows all safety rules and policies of the company;
- Positive can do attitude person. Must be flexible to adapt to changes in workload;
- Meets deadlines and maintains a high level of accuracy and confidentiality in a teamwork environment;
- Good interpersonal oral and written communication skills;
- Ability to work independently and simultaneously on multiple projects;
- Knowledge of the structure of the English language including reading, writing, and oral comprehension and oral and written expression;
- Eagerness to assist management in resolving maintenance issues within the facility and completing tasks in a timely manner;
- Ability to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one;
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to identity the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems;
- Ability to remain current on changes to industry and regulatory standards;
- Ability to identify complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Excellent attendance required.
Educational and Skills Requirements:
- AAS is preferred, high school diploma and/or GED required, and an equivalent of 3+ years of maintenance experience;
- Experience in food manufacturing preferred, USDA/FDA but will train;
- Ability to establish and achieve production, safety, quality objectives, and continuous improvement in food manufacturing environment.
- Technical skills in equipment operation and mechanical repair required, electrical repair a plus;
- Thorough knowledge of maintenance systems, building maintenance, preventive/predictive maintenance;
- Positive attitude with the ability to multitask;
- Ability to work independently, self-starter, and energetic;
- Able to lead problem solving and troubleshooting efforts associated with high-level process issues;
- Good planning and priority setting skills.
