Maintenance Technician Lead - 1st shift
Under the direction of Maintenance Manager, this position coordinates maintenance related activities including direction / leadership of personnel in the department. Maintenance personnel are required to perform all functions of plant maintenance. They are primarily responsible for the production equipment and preventive and predictive maintenance. Maintenance personnel maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve the processes related to the mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and the facilities of the production plant.
Essential Functions
- Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Locate sources of problems by observing devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Remove defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
- Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
- Fabricate repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
- Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Provide electrical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
- Prepare electrical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Experience/Education
- Associates Degree and/or Certification in Maintenance, Electrical Systems or similar required
- 10 years working experience in manufacturing maintenance
- Minimum 5 years leadership/supervisory experience
