Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician will perform general maintenance, troubleshoot, repair and rebuilds on all manufacturing and facility equipment as needed, focusing primarily on electronics and controls. The technician will manage the installation and start-up of manufacturing equipment and work closely with production personnel to resolve machine issues and improve productivity and quality. This position requires experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance, preferably in the printing industry. The technician will also manage the procurement of needed parts for service and repair.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Monitor and maintain machinery as well as machinery design and construction.

• Perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
• Responsible for ordering of needed parts.
• Troubleshoot and repair machine breakdowns.
• Document tasks done and parts used on maintenance work orders.
• Take on projects to build or modify equipment.
• Work with production to resolve machine issues that limit productivity and quality.
• Ensure all equipment is safe to operate.
• Operate independently to make decisions in the moment to reduce downtime.
• Handle basic repairs around facility such as plumbing, carpentry or other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Must have a working knowledge of PLC’s and servo controls. Must be able to read and understand both electric and pneumatic schematics.
• Electrical knowledge and experience. A licensed electrician is a plus.
• Mechanical knowledge and experience including troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance.
• Self-motivated and able to work without constant supervision.
• Able to work under pressure and adapt to frequent changes.
• Be able to understand electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic drawings.
• Familiar with AC and DC drives, high voltage power and low voltage control circuits.
• Familiar with mechanical power transmission components, pneumatic and hydraulic system
• Have a good working knowledge of hand tools and tooling used on these machines.
• Better than average computer skills.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment.

Education and Experience:

Minimum 3 years manufacturing experience and/or journeyman’s card or equivalent of college education. Previous experience in the printing industry is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Work in a manufacturing environment which may have a noise level of medium to loud. Required to wear foot, hearing or other personal protective equipment while performing job duties. Wear clothing that is suitable for a production environment dealing with inks and other machinery. Must be able to continually walk, stand for prolonged periods of time and stoop or kneel frequently. Must be able to lift/move at least 50 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.12 - $26.44 per hour
