Position Summary: Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for Building Maintenance, will be responsible to provide technician support to each department, prioritize work orders and repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment. The Maintenance Technician will demonstrate professional appearance, behavior and attitude at all times while performing his/her job duties.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 6am-4:30pm, onsite, Moses Lake WA
Primary Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions):
- Daily communication with production team to prioritize maintenance work.
- Working knowledge in the following trades: Basic HVAC Equipment, process pumps (mag drive and diaphragm pumps), overhead door maintenance, RO/UPW systems, and cooling towers.
- Perform general duties around the plant including but not limited to, exterior building maintenance, grounds cleanup and maintenance.
- Provide technical support and resources as necessary to every department in the plant regarding machinery, equipment, and any other facility issues.
- Develop and implement maintenance activities as listed, preventive maintenance, work order system, critical parts inventory, field equipment inventory, maintenance skill development, predictive maintenance.
- Write procedures and maintain records of repairs, calibrations, tests, etc.
- Review and prioritize work orders daily, for repair and maintenance of machinery and mechanical equipment; estimate material requirements and repair and/or replace defective parts as needed; analyze/troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and other operations problems and take corrective action; report all unsafe equipment, machinery, and practices to the Maintenance Supervisor/Department Manager.
- Maintain inventory, and quality of tools, parts, repair supplies and other materials; obtain quotes for replacement parts and materials and prepare requisitions as needed; fabricate parts not commercially available using hand and machine tools; maintain tools and equipment in good working order.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Ability:
- High school Diploma or equivalent required.
- Maintenance: 3 years (Preferred)
- ISO 9001: 1 year (Preferred)
- Working knowledge of computers and MS Office software.
- Working knowledge of arithmetic and grammar.

Working Conditions: Duties are generally performed indoors and outdoors, in all weather conditions, in a 24-hour per day, seven days per week manufacturing environment. Handling and working with hazardous materials and chemical manufacturing equipment is routine. The employee may work in the presence of fumes or airborne particles, hot, toxic or corrosive chemicals, water, liquids and electrical equipment. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud. When working in the presence of these hazards, the employee is expected to follow company safety rules and use proper personal protection such as: hardhat, respirator, hearing protection, protective clothing, safety glasses, safety footwear, etc. MLI is an alcohol and drug free workplace. Employees will work in a covered Process Safety Management (PSM) environment containing threshold quantities of flammable liquids and/or gasses that have a potential for fire or explosion. Employees working in this environment are required to be free from devices that are not considered intrinsically safe. Examples of devices that may not be intrinsically safe include Insulin Pumps, Pacemakers, Pain Management devices, etc.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and listen. The employee is frequently required to move full drums, handle, and use objects, tools, controls or keyboards; reach with hands and arms; kneel, crouch and occasionally climb. The employee occasionally works with production equipment and material moving equipment, such as forklifts, that require coordination and attention to detail.
The employee must regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds without assistance and with assistance; containers, equipment,4 and tools of greater weight. The employee is regularly required to see and read print, gauges, and instrumentation. Specific vision abilities required are color, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
