Position Summary
We are currently seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician II to join our winning team at our Fresno, CA location. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician II will support the production team by maintaining all plant equipment and responding to emergency repairs as required.
Position Responsibilities
This position contributes successfully to our operations because you will:
- Approaches work with a Continuous Improvement (CI) mindset, and engages in Producers Dairy Mission Statement to identify, value, prioritize, resource, and sustain improvement opportunities.
- Owns and promotes a Safety Culture by ensuring a safe work environment and promoting proper safety behavior.
- Complete assigned preventative maintenance work orders by scheduled completion date.
- Identifies and resolves equipment and machine issues to ensure machines are maintained and working properly.
- Consults with Maintenance Supervisor on any safety deficiencies.
- Supports Maintenance and Quality teams by keeping shop, tools, and dress in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).
- Completes preventative maintenance (PM) work orders as assigned.
- Relieves and covers maintenance department vacations as required.
- Collaborates with the parts clerk to establish parts ordering requirements to ensure that adequate supplies of appropriate spare parts are kept in stock.
- Responds to, troubleshoots, and resolves emergency calls on all plant equipment.
- Researches, suggests, and implements system upgrades, as necessary.
- Performs basic shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) and Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding skills.
- Uses Volt/Ohm meter to accurately troubleshoot electrical circuits, both low and high voltage.
- Tests for bad motors using continuity and megohmmeter tests as required.
- Maintains a working understanding of plant production processes, equipment systems and facilities, to perform maintenance effectively under general directions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
To be a successful Maintenance Technician II you will need:
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Five (5) years of industrial maintenance technician experience is required, preferably in food and beverage manufacturing.
- Completion of a maintenance trade school, or combination of training and manufacturing maintenance is preferred.
- The ability to identify chains, sprockets, and bearings is required.
- The ability to demonstrate cut and glue PVC pipe, cut and thread metal pipe, and identify pipe fittings is required.
- Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds is required.
- The ability to work all shifts, (late or early hours, weekends, holidays, and overtime) is required.
- The ability to follow oral and written instructions is required.
- The ability to visually inspect machines and lift heavy equipment, to bend, and to stand or walk for prolonged periods is required.
- The ability to work alternating between hot and cold environments, both indoors and outdoors is required.
- The ability to work well independently and with others is required.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment is required.
- The ability to identify and describe each component of a High Temperature short time (HTST) process is preferred.
