Shift Details: Day shift ; rotating weekends and holidays; approximately 1 weekend per month and 2-3 holidays per year

For more than 118 years, Backus Hospital has been the primary source of healthcare services for much of Eastern Connecticut. Job Summary: Performs diagnostic and therapeutic mammographic procedures in hospital, clinic or mobile van sites, according to established protocols to assist the referring physician in diagnosis and treatment. Operates digital mammography equipment and performs procedures by positioning patients, preparing contrast medias, and selecting the correct exposure factors utilizing the assessment of patient age, pathology and diagnosis to produce technically accurate digital and or analog images to assist the radiologist in diagnosis. Performs breast biopsies, stereotactic biopsies, needle localization, RFID tag placement, Bone Densitometry, and assist with MRI biopsies as needed.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiography program. Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Experience: At least one (1) year Mammography experience and 6 months experience in Mammography hospital setting preferred. Experience in breast stereotactic localized biopsies preferred.

Licensure, Certification, Registration: State of Connecticut Radiographer license required. ARRT certification in Radiography required. Basic Life Support (BLS) required. ARRT Mammography certification preferred.
